Top 8 Interesting PC Games For 2012

We have seen some amazing games releasing in 2012 and many more are poised to hit the market. Those who have been saying that PC games are dead, need to do a real re-think as the games in our compiled list are sure to blow your senses away. You may have come across the demos of many of these games but the real fun begins when you actually play them. We had anticipated that this year will see some great combat action and RPG stuff and we were not wrong. Take a look at our selection of the best 8.

1. Grand Theft Auto V

Whenever you compile a list of top 10 PC games, you just cannot leave out this classic series from Rockstar Games. GTA V is set in Los Santos but we are not sure whether it is a continuation from GTA IV. But going by the gloss of the trailer, i think it marks the return to the pop culture of San Andreas. Though GTA games are essential set in urban environments, this one may prove to be a little different as the main character’s hobby is hiking.

2. Cross of the Dutchman

If you have played Fable 3 then you may find some similarity but this action-adventure has a better gameplay. You will play as the legendary Dutch pirate, Donia, and try to liberate Frisia. The side quests are very enthralling and action scenes are well executed.

3. Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Did I see a smile in your face? Fans of Metal Gear Solid will simply love this futuristic action game from the house of Konami. You will love the beautiful swordplay and the intricate attention to the slicing and dicing of the bodies. The game will owe its popularity to the plot device and the excellent game mechanics.

4. Brothers in Arms: Furious 4

Ubisoft comes out with a team based shooter where we see Yankee soldiers taking on the Nazis. The demo was very interesting and there is plenty of gore and Nazi-banding all around. Many may not fancy playing a team-based shooter but it is definitely worth a play and one of the better games around this year.

5. The Darkness 2

Darkness 2 will release in spring and it allows players to slash, grab and throw enemies at will. You can also tell the imps when to murder your enemies from the shadows.

6. Prey 2

The game focuses on the relation between the prey and the predator. The game demands a high level of attention as it is very difficult to become a predator but there is no multiplayer option in the game which is a real dampener.

7. XCOM: Enemy Unknown

This is a strategy game from Fireaxis Games. This is a classic game but this one too is intended for solo play as there is no multi-player option. The game is yet to release in the market but going by the initial buzz, it will set the cash registers ringing for the company.

8. Tera

This is a very fast paced action game and it takes place at the top of the mountains and deserts. Different races are fighting for the control of the world and the there is a huge tussle between the races to annex power.

There are many other PC games like Mass Effect 3 and Borderlands 2 which deserve special mention but unfortunately, it seems that this year will not see a single release of any game like Silent Hills. So horror fans may not have a great year but those who love action games will have plenty to choose from.
